Dr Julie McInnes

Postdoctoral Researcher - IMAS, University of Tasmania

“Through diversity we can start to get new ideas and create a much healthier and more positive science and research community.”

Dr Julie McInnes has spent extended periods working in small field teams in remote locations, including the Antarctic and Subantarctic, developing and implementing wildlife research and monitoring programs. Julie finds applied research leading to conservation and management outcomes for seabirds and marine mammals incredibly rewarding. Currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic studies at the University of Tasmania, Julie works with State and Federal Government, as well as stakeholders like fisheries, to develop methods to help monitor marine ecosystems and inform species conservation and management programs.
