Kate Johnson

PhD Candidate - Natural Sciences, University of Tasmania

"Diversity in people and in people’s experiences and their skill sets is really important for having a big pool of ideas and the creativity we need to solve some of the world’s biggest problems."

Kate is a Plant Physiologist who loves rock hopping, tree climbing and running around in the bush. Kate studies how the tubes which transport water in plants become filled with air, leading to plant death in drought. Kate also loves literature, especially poetry, and painting. With a love of words, images and stories, Kate loves learning, and telling others about the magic of science and nature!
