Meredith Castles

PhD Candidate - Information and Communication Technology, University of Tasmania

“The challenges I have had to overcome working in the T in STEMM are ones I was warned about which were misogyny and attitude. This is a challenge I plan to overcome, rather than drop off.”

Meredith is an Interaction Design Science specialist and PhD Candidate at the University of Tasmania. She has worked extensively as an actor and writer in the TV, film, stage and radio industries for over 20 years. She co-hosts and helps produce the nationally award-winning STEM podcast That’s What I Call Science, and is one of two professional gamer hosts of an upcoming international podcast on Women Live-Streamers. Meredith solo hosts a live-streamed science communication show on Twitch TV twice weekly to teach people about science fundamentals through conversation and video gaming, and outside of Science Communication she loves ice hockey, skating, trail running and animals.
