Mimi hopes her research will prevent ongoing brain damage and long-term disabilities linked to head injury to enable survivors live a better quality of life.. Mimi has just completed her PhD from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology at the University of Tasmania where her project explored novel treatments for traumatic brain injury. Mimi’s interest in science was born in her home country, Nigeria. She has travelled across the world to complete her PhD while juggling family life with two young children. In 2019, she was awarded the inaugural Australian Neurotrauma Professor Robert Vink’s Prize for her excellent research work.
