Dr Rebecca Harris

Climate Impact Scientist - University of Tasmania

“Working in STEMM is about understanding how the world works. I started out as an ecologist because I was fascinated by the world and all the little things that go together to make the world work."

Dr Rebecca Harris has always been fascinated by the world and all the little things that go together to make the world work. She started her career as an arachnologist, studying spiders, and has since branched out to work in ecology, conservation and climate research. Now working as a Climate Impact Scientist and Senior Lecturer in Climatology at the University of Tasmania, Rebecca is the director of the Climate Futures team and a lead author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report, Working Group II.
